Ryū Murakami (, of its true name ( Ryūnosuke Murakami ), born on February 19th, 1952 with Sasebo (Prefecture of Nagasaki) is a writer and scenario writer Japan board (without family ties with Haruki Murakami).
He is the prolific author of about thirty books of which most famous are its first novel, almost transparent Bleu (Akutagawa price in 1976, sold in Japan to a million specimens in six months), which recalls a few days of the life of a group of teenagers, between sex, drug and rock'n'roll, Babies of the left-luggage lockers (1980) and Parasites . He also received the Yomiuri price in 1998 for Miso Soup .
Comments on its work
Except in its autobiographical novel, 1969 , where it describes with humor and facility the unfolding of the May 68 Japanese in a flanked medium-sized city of an American base (Sasebo), the work of Murakami is extremely dark and desperate. 1969 , absolutely musical and often jouissif novel, is the 17 year old book of the author. It is the time of the first steps in the adult world, a universe not less difficult to decode in Japan than elsewhere when the authority is refused and that one seeks the freedom on the side of the rock'n'roll and the cinema, American that gets along. A American Graffiti Japanese, quite as eccentric and douceâtre, with a feeling of stronger interdict.
All the remainder of its production, at least that accessible in French, returns the reflection of a Japanese company faithful to certain caricatures which one believes outraged. Isolated individuals, lost in the world of Internet ( Parasitic ), children marginal and given up in the inhuman vastness of the metropolises ( the Babies …), excluded from the parallel worlds of the prostitution and the glaucous bars ( Miso Soup, the Babies ), sectarian nightmares and terrorists ( Babies, Parasitic ).
Murakami analyzes its time coldly and revisits the history, prohibited, of brutal and warlike Japan. Its Japan is that of is delirious technological, of the Surconsommation, free violence, the slow and progressive abandonment of the traditions, the destruction of the family ties and collectives developed by the Japanese company around a principle of absolute constraint with the law of the community. The revolutionary pseudo teenager became an adult who throws a glance without concession on his congeneric.
But it is perhaps Parasites which only summarizes with him all the work of Murakami. An young man, one of those which are in complete rupture with school and family and which do not communicate any more that through Internet, thinks that a worm entered its body. He contacts an organization which will push it to make murders. All is known as. Internet which insulates but which also involves towards the other, including destroying it, the parasitic worm which is of each one of us, like a presence of strangeness and horror who all could penetrate us, the search (worrying and unhealthy) for oneself in the death of the other, the presence of the Technologie, the Théorie of the plot…
Murakami gives to reading a complex, disordered but unfinished work, as if it had not found yet this supplement of hope which would light all.
