Rutebeuf

Rutebeuf (v. 1230 - v. 1285), probably of the nickname “ox vigorous”, would be originating in Champagne (it described the conflicts with Troyes in 1249) but lived adult with Paris.

One knows almost nothing of his life except that it was probably a juggler with a training of clerk (it knew the Latin ). Its work, very diversified, which broke with the tradition of the courteous Poésie of the Trouvère S, includes/understands Hagiographie S, theater, poems Polémique S and satirical S towards the powerful ones of its time. Rutebeuf is also a poet " personnel" , one of the first to be spoken to us about its miseries and of the difficulties of the life.

The poems of Rutebeuf inspired some great authors of the contemporary song like Georges Brassens or Léo Ferré which put several of its texts in music.
