Russian mountains pipeline
The Pipeline Coaster is a type of Russian Montagnes developed by the Japanese company Togo. The name of attraction come from the English word Pipeline which means line-pipe literally.
Although Arrow Dynamics and Intamin AG developed their versions of attraction, they never really exploited it.
History
Togo develops the first Coaster Pipeline in 1985 under the name of Ultra Twister for the Amusement park LaQua, with Tokyo, the Japan. Attraction became very popular and the following year Six Flags invested for the park Six Flags Great Adventure in one of these models. (present in the park until in 1990 or he was moved with the park Six Flags Astroworld, closed since 2005).
Concept and operation
The success of this attraction near the small parks come owing to the fact that it does not require enormously of place on the ground. Attraction is presented in the form of a long tube. The tip trucks inside whose the passengers take seat with the form of large a Cylindre.After hoistbeing hoisted, the tip truck enters the tunnel of rails and starts a descent enabling him to take speed. The English park Alton Towers had in project the construction of a Coaster Pipeline by the firm Arrow Dynamics with the beginning of the year 1990. The project called SW1 then SW2 (Secret Weapon, which means secret weapon) was finally abandoned following many engineering problems and financier, and especially with the detriment of Russian mountains of another type; Nemesis.
