Russell Undermines National Monument
The Russell Cave National Monument is a American national Monument located in the north of the American State of the Alabama, close to the town of Bridgeport. Its creation dated May 11th, 1961, when 310 acres are given to the American people by the National Geographic Society. The place now is managed and maintained by the National Park Service. Russell Cave is registered with the National Register off Historic Places since October 15th, 1966.
With a length charted of 7,2 miles (11,6 km), Russell Cave is the longer third Grotte charted Alabama, is classified 90e on the United States Long Hollow List and is currently classified 314e on the list of the longest caves of the world.
