Rusal

The company Rusal (Roussal) was created in spring 2000 when Vladimir Poutine became president. Roussal became in 2002 world number two of the production of aluminum.

A sulfurous past

Rusal would have been born from a “alliance” between certain circles of the Russian capacity close to Boris Eltsine and of the leaders of gangster organizations.

The attention of the Western intelligence services has concentrated for several years on Rusal and its bonds supposed with the organized crime. This charge was carried, in a maintenance in the World of November 28th, 2002, by Djalol Khaïdarov, a business man who worked ten years with Mikhaïl Tchernoï, suspecté to be with the head of one of the most powerful criminal groups.

Living today in Israel, Mikhaïl Tchernoï is interdict to leave the territory and aimed by an investigation of Israeli justice (what he denied in a mail with the newspaper Le Monde).

World giant of aluminum

October 9th, 2006, the fusion of Rusal, Sual and the credits in the aluminum of the Swiss group Glencore creates the world number one of the strategic sector of aluminum. The new entity is called Compagnie unified of Russian aluminum. It will be held to 66% by the shareholders of Rusal, to 22% by those of Sual and at 12% by Glencore. It employs 110.000 people in 17 countries out of five continents.
