Running communist
Organization Marxist-Leninist regular army with the Kurdistan with Iraq, until in 1993. In the beginning, it is about a current sympathizing with the Albania of Enver Hoxha, but as of the middle of the Eighties, the communist Current approaches the Communist party of Iran, very critical of the socialist countries.
In March 1991, at the time of the American attack against Iraq, the communist Current considers it possible to reverse the mode of Saddam Hussein to the Kurdistan. Taking to speeds the Kurdish nationalists, it takes the initiative of the insurrection with Sulaymania. Its armed groups take by storm the official buildings and the offices of the party baathist, with an important popular support. At the same time, it conducts an active campaign for the creation of working councils, which seize indeed the power during several weeks, and for the social claims (35 hours, pay rise, self-management…). It is the beginning of the insurrection of 1991 with Kurdistan.
In 1993, under the impulse of Iranian Mansoor Hekmat, the communist Current amalgamates with several other groups of extreme-left to become the Parti Communist-workman Iraq.
