Short summary of the history

In the the United States of 2025, become a dictatorship, a play makes fury: the Great Tracking . A participant must, during thirty days, to escape the killers who continue it, helped by the population which is encouraged to give its localization.

To save his eighteen month old daughter, patient, and to pay the treatment necessary, Ben Richards, unemployed, present themselves to the selections for this play and are accepted. Then begin a long tracking through all the country.

Comments

This novel of Anticipation - kind less frequently practiced by Stephen King than the fantastic one - has a topic similar to that of a news of 1958 of Robert Sheckley, the Price of the Danger . King forever indicated if it had been inspired some. It on the other hand specified in Why I Was Bachman to have written the totality of its novel in 72 hours.
