Coule the Seine is a collection of three Nouvelle S of Fred Vargas ( Salut and freedom , the Night of rough the and Five francs part ) illustrated by Baudoin which also worked in collaboration with this author on the four rivers .
One finds on three investigations the Adamsberg police chief there, always also dreamer, and his Danglard colleague who continues as for him siroter his wine white.
Hello and freedom
Vasco, tailor of profession without work and thus tramp, seem to have elected residence on the bench vis-a-vis the police station of the 5th district of Paris: it spends its days there to aim at a reverberator while spitting of the olive cores and to observe those which enter and leave the building vis-a-vis him.
Adrien Danglard estimates that it would be advisable to drive out “this old man” who it inconvenient and ruins it, since he cannot prevent himself from giving him a part each day. Adamsberg, on its side, does not consider that the presence of this man constitutes a problem and even, without being able to explain why, is interested in him.
When Adamsberg receives an anonymous letter, it establishes a link between this old tailor and the mail, aggravating prodigiseusement Danglard which sees only two banalities there to be ignored.
Adamsberg will thus carry out its survey like usually, by dreaming, amused by these letters that it begins to wait impatiently.

The Night of the rough ones
The night of rough is different, for the Adamsberg police chief, only the night of Christmas. Whereas it réveillonne in company of a colleague of service, Adamsberg envisages for the days to come the discovery from a crime, which does not fail to arrive.
The survey is carried out quickly and, thanks to the unforeseen assistance of a man in room of sobering up, the assassin is quickly found… where one does not expect it inevitably, like often in works of Vargas.
