Run-DMC

Run-DMC , composed of Rev Run (Joseph Simmons), D.M.C. (Darryl McDaniels) and Jam Master Jay (Jason Mizell) was one of largest groups Rap, precursor of the Hip hop hardcore.

Biography

The three members of the group are originating in Hollis (in the Queens, in New York).

Run (for running At the mouth ) is the little brother of Russel Simmons, at the origin of the major Def Jam, who presented Kurtis Blow to him of which it became DJ. Quickly, Darryl McDaniels joined it with the microphone in its shows. Then they will meet Jason Mizell (Jam Master Jay) at the university.

Their first tube, It' S Like That is recorded in 1983 on the small Profile label. Its face B, Sucker MC' S , has happy incredibly hard for the time and is regarded as the first piece of rap hardcore. This first disc was a phenomenal success, as well as the album which followed it.

The second album left in 1985, and entitled King Off Rock'n'roll , is an increasing success. One finds collaborations with Cool L there J then old of only 16 years.

In 1986 it is with the cinema that they make an appearance in film animated Krush Groove , with the Beastie Boys. The bad publicity which results from this does not prevent the recording of their third album Raising Hell which was classified third of Billboard and sold with more than 3 million specimens, first album disc of platinum of the history of the rap! The album contains celebrates it remix Walk this Way which started again the career of Aerosmith and remains one of 10 better individual of the history… the members of Run DMC are also the first people except sportsmen to conclude a contract with a famous sporting firm for the moderate amount from 1.000.000 $… They will make even an anthem with the sneakers (sport shoes) which they constantly carry thanks to the mégatube My Adidas

The rounds of the group are the theater of violences and shootings whereas they leave their fifth album Back From Hell which will not meet last success.

Charges of rape to alcoholism, the problems accumulated for the members of the group during this period. They turn then to the religion and make a return crashing to pieces in 1993 with Down With The King (gold disc). This year there, they also take part in B.O. film Judgment Night with the group of rock'n'roll-fusion Living room Color.

A eight year old station-wagon later, it leave new and last album in 2001 with Crown Royal .

October 30th 2002, Jason Mizell, considered by its admirors as one of largest and more influential rappor ever known, was assassinated by ball in the Queens, in New York, at the age of only 37 years.
