Rule of the Russia Mother
The Statue of the Mother Russia was set up on Mamayev Kurgan in memory of the Bataille of Stalingrad which was one longest and of the most atrocious battles of the military history. It keeps the country and, its sword pointing towards the sky, holds an attitude of distrust vis-a-vis those which will dare to attack his/her children.
High, world records (and thus higher than the Statue of Freedom), it 52 meters are made up of 5.500 tons of concrete and 2.400 tons metal. The sword measures 29 m and weighs 14 tons, while the suspended part of the scarf weighs 250 tons. It was inaugurated the October 15th 1967.
