Christophe Rousset is a Claveciniste and Leader French, born with Aix-en-Provence the April 12th 1961.
Biography and musical course
Christophe Rousset very early develops a passion for esthetics Baroque and begins studies of Clavecin, with the Schola Cantorum of Paris with Huguette Dreyfus, which it then continues with the Royal Academy of $the Hague in the class of Bob van Asperen. At 22 years, it gains prestigious the First price of the seventh Contest of harpsichord of Bruges (1983) as well as the Price of the public.Noticed by the international press and the recording companies like Harpsichordist, it begins his career from chief with Flourishing Arts then It Seminario Musicale, before creating its own unit, Talens Lyriques, in 1991.
Its project is then to explore musical Europe of (opera, Cantate, Oratorio, Sonate, Symphonie, Concerto), which at the same time leads it to discover new partitions ( Antigona of Traetta, the capricciosa corretta of Martín there Soler, Armida abbandonata of Jommelli) and to interpret more popular works.
In a few seasons, Christophe Rousset imposes his image of young person chief endowed, Soliste and chambrist always with the more high level, pedagog permanent and untiring. It is today invited to direct in the specialized festivals, the operas and the concert halls of the whole world: Theater of the Fields-Élysées, Theater of Châtelet, Theater of Capitole, De Nederlandse Operated, Opéra of Lausanne, Barbican Center. It also takes part in many recordings discographics (Harmonia Mundi, the Lyrebird, Fnac Music, EMI-Virgin, Decca, Naïve and Ambroisie) which gain sharp successes: the band of the film Farinelli , Mitridate of Mozart, the Stabat MATER of Pergolèse.
Parallel to his Lyric activities of leader to the head of Talens, Christophe Rousset continues his career of international harpsichordist while occurring on the most beautiful historical harpsichords and records much: Couperin, Branch, Bach (recently Klavierbüchlein of Wilhelm Friedemann Bach).
Christophe Rousset is Officier of Arts and Lettres and Chevalier in the National order of the Merit.
