Reception

This novel is one of the first to tackle the subject of the Homosexualité, which more is with the Brésil, in a clear way, before Escal Vigor of Georges Eekhoud (1899). It made scandal for its subject and its treatment naturalist near to novels of Zola like the human Animal (1890).

It is appeared in French translation with the Éditions Métailié, in 2007.
