Rue Monseigneur-Lavarenne
The street Monseigneur-Lavarenne makes the junction between the Place Benoit-Crisp and the avenue Adolphe-max, in the Vieux Lyon. It was the subject of work (always in progress in July 2006) for the installation of an access to the new underground car park of the Saint-Georges district, under the Place Benoit-Crisp.
During this work, one proceeded to archaeological excavations. One found various traces of dwellings there, since second half of the 1st century after J. - C. until after the Moyen-âge. One in particular discovered a door there belonging to the canonic enclosure which surrounded, with the Moyen-âge, the buildings belonging to évêché, and which one did not know the exact layout in this zone.
