Rudy Hirigoyen

Rudy Hirigoyen , born on August 29th 1919 with Mendionde in the Yrénées-Atlantiques and deceased in Paris on October 24th 2000, is a French lyric singer.

Biography

Born in the Basque Country, Rudy Hirigoyen follows his/her parents to Paris in 1927. It begins in the working life like hunter with the hotel Georges V, then it follows the occupation of hairdresser during four years. In 1938 it gains two radio-hooks, and, in 1939, without musical formation, it is classified first on a hundred of competitors to the contest of the Opéra and Op3era Comique with an air of Bohemia of Puccini. Mobilized at the beginning of the war, it is made prisoner, then released in 1941. After having been some time chorus-singer with the Theater of Châtelet, it begins in the song in 1942. Its first successes go back to 1945 ( My beautiful with wood sleeping , With the garden of my heart , Pastourelle in Nina , etc). In 1947 it begins in the Opérette by succeeding Luis Mariano in the Beautiful one from Cadiz, of Francis Lopez with the Casino-Montparnasse. It proceeds in this way while beginning again, in various Parisian theaters, Andalusia (1950), the Brigand of love (1951), the Whims of Vichnou (1951) to the theater of Star, the Singer of Mexico City (1952), later the Mediterranean (1964) with the theater of Châtelet. It is not satisfied with recoveries, but it also ensures of creations: For you (music of Georges Dherain or Priest), Maria-Flora (music of Henri Betti, 1957) with the theater of Châtelet, and especially Viva Napoli (music of Francis Lopez, 1970) in Mogador. Until 1987, it traverses France, interpreting mainly operettas of Francis Lopez ( the Golden Fleece , the flowered Road , the Prince of Madrid , Gipsy ). Its last creation is still an operetta of Francis Lopez, Fandango , presented in 1987 to the Elysium-Montmartre.

Rudy Hirigoyen also made several musical films ( the College in madness , 1953, with songs of Francis Lopez; the flowered Inn ; Everywhere ; Hello, happiness ).
