Ruby Llama
Llama is a Spanish company Basque, which was founded in 1904 under the name Gabilondo and Urresti. Its seat is with Guernica. In 1914, the firm creates a semi-automatic model of gun RUBY with a capacity of 9 cartridges of 7,65 Browning, Llama Ruby , inspired of the Browning M1903.
Technique
Copied from the Belgian gun, Ruby functions thanks to a turntable simple action, a striker launched and to a not fixed cylinder head. It has a manual safety located in front of the left plate of stick. The spring recuperator is under the gun. The bodies of aimings are fixed but cetrains model had a tangential rise. This gun also had a hook of charger located under the handle and sometimes a ring holding for a dragonne.Production and diffusion
The standard gun Ruby was used by France and Italy during the Great War. From 1915, the French commission which dealt of the reception and the quality control of the weapons Ruby inventoried 709775 units of them. The importance of the order explains the presence of forty Basque manufacturers in addition to Llama, of which Star Bonifacio and Astra (leading vendor of Italy).
