Rubiaceae

The family of the Rubiacées includes/understands more than 10.000 Espèce S divided into 600 kind S.

They are trees, bushes, lianas or herbaceous plants of the areas cold, moderate, subtropical or tropical, largely widespread. In France one can quote the odorous aspérule, the Gaillet S (kind Galium ) or the Garance of the dyers (kind Rubia ).

It is also the family of the Caféier (kind Coffea ), of the Quinquina (kind Cinchona ) of the Gardénia (kind Gardenia ).

One can still quote the kind Psychotria . It is as in this family as Dialypelalanthus is placed, a tree of the Brazilian tropical forest in the past placed in its own family. She still includes/understands the kinds Adina, Breonia, Cephalanthus, Mitragyna, Nauclea, Neonauclea, Sarcocephalus, Uncaria which trained the family of Naucléacées. According to the phylogenetic classification Rubiacées belong to the order of the Gentianales in the group Euasterid 1.
