Royal academy of Brussels

Indeed in activity since the Empire (1813), the royal Conservatoire of Brussels receives this official title in 1832. It has been for this time the principal one and the highest school of the Kingdom of Belgium in the fields of the Musique and the Arts of the word. They are Masters like François-Joseph Fétis, first director of the establishment, François-Auguste Gevaert or Joseph Jongen which gave him the row that it occupies.

The buildings which it currently occupies, made up of three wings laid out around a main courtyard, are the work of the architect Jean-Pierre Cluysenaar and were built between 1872 and 1876.

With professors of great fame, many its pupils, come from the whole world have, in their turn, asset a great notoriety.
