Royal Astronomer
Royal Astronome was in the beginning the title of the director of the royal Observatoire of Greenwich, but since 1972 it is nothing any more but one honorary title.
The king Charles II founds the royal Observatoire of Greenwich in 1675 and names the first Royal Astronome John Flamsteed.
