Roy J. Glauber

Roy J. Glauber (born on September 1st 1925) is a American Physicien which obtained the Nobel Prize of physics in 2005 for its theoretical description of the behavior of the particle S of Lumière. It shares this price with Theodor W. Hänsch and John L. Hall.

Biography

It obtained its diploma in physics of a High school of the Bronx in 1941. He then worked with the Projet Manhattan. In 1963, it publishes the majority of the important texts on the concepts and mathematics which underlies the Cohérence Optique.

It received the Nobel Prize for its “contribution to the quantum theory of optical coherence” (“for his contribution to the quantum theory off optical coherence”).

It is currently Professor with the Université Harvard.
