Roy Crowson
Roy Albert Crowson is a British Entomologiste , born the November 22nd 1914 in the Kent and dead the May 13rd 1999.
He is lecturer at the department of Zoologie of the Université of Glasgow starting from 1949. He specialization in the Taxinomie of the Coléoptère S. Crowson constitutes a collection of adults and larvae of the whole world in order to studied their relations of relationship. The system of classification which he proposes in his monograph, The natural classification off the families off Coleoptera , appeared in 1955 is still of use nowadays. Its collection is preserved at the Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery and at the Natural History Museum of London. The Crowsonellidae was dedicated to him. It receives the Médaille linnéenne in 1980.
