Roy Campanella

Roy Campanella , born the November 19th 1921 and deceased the June 26th 1993, was an American player of Baseball evolving/moving with the Brooklyn Dodgers in the major Ligue of baseball at the station of receiver between 1948 and 1957. Seven times Alstar of 1949 with 1956, it were introduced with the Temple of re-elected baseball in 1969 and its shirt number 39 was withdrawn at Dodgers in 1972.

Career

Roy Campanella had a father of Italian origin and a mother Afro-American. Also, Roy was condemned to play in Negro League until in 1948 under the colors of Washington Elite Giants because of prohibition to into force recruit black players in major League of 1887 with 1947. During this period, Roy also played a time in the championship of Mexico.

Located long time by the organization of Brooklyn Dodgers, Roy is recruited as of 1946 and awaits its hour in minor leagues. After the appearance on stage of Jackie Robinson in 1947 at Dodgers, Roy followed the same die and was integrated into the manpower of Dodgers in 1948. He was the titular receiver during these ten seasons in major league and stopped his career during the winter of the removal of the frankness towards Los Angeles (1957 - 1958)
