Roxana Maracineanu

Roxana Maracineanu , born the May 7th 1975 with Bucharest in Romania, is a French swimmer . She is also graduate of ESCP-EAP in 2005.

Born in very young Romania but come to France and involving itself to Mulhouse, it became the first Frenchwoman with becoming world champion of swimming in 1998 with Perth in Australia.

The following year, it confirms at the time of the championships of Europe, before obtaining the money medal to the Olympic Games of summer of 2000 of Sidney.

Besides since, privileging its studies, it was not qualified for great international competitions, knowing always problems to carry out the “minima”. It is a compétitrice, not a swimmer of stopwatch.

She announces the end of her career in 2004, right before the Olympic Games of summer of 2004 for which she did not succeed in qualifying herself.

In March 2007, at the time of the Championships of the world of swimming of Melbourne (Australia), it is consulting for France Televisions at the sides of Alexandre Boyon and Michel Rousseau.
