Old the trunk road 98 or RN 98 was a French trunk road connecting Toulon to Menton. Following the transfer of trunk roads to the departments of 2006, it became RD 98 and 559 in Var and RD 6098 in the the Alpes-Maritimes. Center structuring Riviera following the example RN 7 and the has 8, it crosses the following communes and localities:

Before the reform of 1972, the RN 98 connected Toulon to Mandelieu; the section between Napoule and Mandelieu was displaced in RD 2098 . Then, it took again a section of RN 559 between Napoule and Roquebrune-Cape-Martin, but it does not pass by the Cape d' Antibes.
Notes on the course
The RN 98 separates from RN 97 on the commune of the Valette-of-VAr close to Toulon.
It is partly covered by the highway has 570 on the commune of Hyères.
It passes to the Col of Gratteloup (200 m) on the commune of Bormes-les-Mimosas.
It crosses the Forêt of Dom on this same commune and that of Môle.
The RD 98a towards
Saint-Tropez is detached from the RN 98 on the level of the crossroads of Foux, place of frequent congestions the été.
It skirts the Mediterranean coast starting from Port-Grimaud.
