Route main road 79

The trunk road 79 , or RN 79 , is a trunk road French connecting Montmarault to Mâcon (Continued until Borough-in-Bresse before 2006). It is a section of RCEA (Center-Europe-Atlantic Road).

A setting has 2 X 2 ways was made of Digoin to Charolles then surroundings of Cluny to Charnay-lès-Mâcon. Such installations are envisaged all along its layout (except Mâcon with Borough-in-Bresse, transferred from now on at the departments) in order to ensure a continuity with the N145 towards the the Limousin and the Poitou.

Before the reform of 1972, RN 79 connected Nevers to the Cluse. It became RN 81 of Nevers to Decize, RD 979 of Decize at the exit of Paray-le-Monial, RD 17 of the Fork with Mâcon and RD 979 of Borough-in-Bresse to the Cluse. It remained RN 79 on a short section between Paray-le-Monial, Charolles and the Fork. Between Mâcon and the entry of Borough-in-Bresse, RN 79 from now on transferred to the departments was also of origin. On a short section at the entry of Borough-in-Bresse, RN 79 replaced RN 75.

Between the years 1970 and the end of the year 1990, RN 79 began with Moulins before joining Digoin by Chevagnes and Dompierre-on-Besbre. It took again old sections of trunk roads (of which RN 73) before joining the layout of origin to Digoin. It that towards 1999 qu ' it took again the expressway established starting from Montmarault with Dompierre-on-Besbre, is not continued since recently until Digoin. The old layout is displaced.
