Route main road 73
Nowadays, the trunk road 73 , or RN 73 , is a Trunk road French connecting Châlon-sur-saône to Besancon.
But formerly, until the downgradings of the years 1970, the RN 73 connected Moulins to Hésingue.

Chalon-sur-Saône with Villeneuve
This section corresponds in fact to old the RN83bis. The common crossings are:
- Chalon-sur-Saône (km 0)

Of Villeneuve in Besancon
This section is attested to belong to the RN 73 as of the origins (1824). It passes by:

Old layout
Mills with Luzy
This section was displaced in D973. The Mills-Chevagnes part had been renumbered RN 79 before completion of the corresponding section of the Center-Europe-Atlantic Road. It passed by:
De Luzy in Autun
This section is taken again by current the Trunk road 81.
From Autun with Villeneuve
This section was displaced in D973. It passed by: where it joined the layout still preserved today.
From Besancon with Clerval
This section is taken again by current the Trunk road 83. It passes by:- Roulans
- Balsam-the-Ladies
- Clerval
De Clerval with Hésingue
The RN 73 then made an excursion in Suisse via Porrentruy before returning to France on the level of Courtavon.
The western French section (Doubs) was displaced in D73; it passed by Bridge-with-Roide.
The French section is (Haut-Rhin) was displaced in D473; it passed by:
where it joined old the Trunk road 19.
