In metropolis, the trunk road 2 , or RN 2 , is free a trunk road French connecting Paris to the Belgian border .

Formerly, it was called Route of Flandres .

It is entirely with 2×2 ways of the Blanc-Mesnil to Nanteuil-le-Haudouin. The continuation of the layout is mainly with 2x2 ways until Laon. The crossing of the department of the Northern as well as the north of the Aisne is, in its turn, in the course of installation.
Son layout was modified, in the Seventies during the creation of the Aéroport Charles de Gaulle, between Le Bourget and Dammartin-in-Goële. The old layout passed by the Goose Leg of Gonesse, Roissy-in-France, the Mesnil-Amelot and Longperrier. It was renumbered RN 17 between the Bridge-Yblon and Goose the Leg of Gonesse, the remainder of this section being displaced in RD 902 in the Val-d'Oise and in RD 401 in Seine-et-Marne.

This road will remain in quasi-integrality in the national road field after 2006. It is envisaged the downgrading only urban section located in the department of the Seine-Saint-Denis, between Paris and the Francilienne.
