Route main road 19
The trunk road 19 , or RN 19 , is a trunk road French connecting until in 2006 Paris to the border free Suisse. The decree of December 5th, 2005 (transfer of the RN to the departments) involved the downgrading of most of its layout.
To its origin, in 1824, it connected Paris to Basle. In the years 1970, it was deviated after Belfort to join Delle. In 2006, only was preserved in the national road field that the connection towards the Francilienne at the beginning of Paris and the connection of the has 31 in the North of Langres at the border Suisse.

From Belfort in Switzerland
Formerly, the trunk road 19 connected Belfort to Basle via Altkirch according to a section downgraded in D419 since the years 1970.
Today, the trunk road 19 takes again the layout of the old trunk road 19bis, of Belfort with Delle. The road is in work to connect under good conditions the French and Swiss highways.
The portion Morvillars-Delle (RN 1019) was opened with circulation on December 7th, 2005. It makes it possible to connect Delle to the exchanger of Morvillars in less than five minutes compared with 15 to 20 minutes previously. The purpose of this road is to circumvent the villages of Joncherey and Grandvillars in order to reduce to it the automobile traffic and especially road transport.
It includes/understands an automatic radar with height of the industrial park of Bourogne. The zone is limited to 90 km/h.
The last section which must join Switzerland is, for the moment, still in work and will open when the customs platform is born.
The common crossings are:
- Danjoutin (km 425)
- Andelnans (km 427)
- Grandvillars (km 440)
- Swiss Delle border (km 447)
It should be noted that the decree of December 5th, 2005 envisages a modification of layout of the NR 19 between Lure and Sevenans (exchanging of the has 36). With the place of the current layout via Belfort the direct connection via RD438 prolonged by RN 1019 must substitute.
