Route main road 186

The trunk road 186 , or RN 186 , is a trunk road French which makes the full rotation of Paris at a distance active of a few km (small incursion into the Bois of Vincennes) to more than 20 km of the Ring road (towards Pecq), while crossing a certain number of communes the Parisian suburbs.

At the beginning, the RN 186 went from Rueil-Malmaison to Versailles by circumventing Paris. The course of the RN 186 was modified as follows:

initially, the RN 186 had replaced RN 13 between the bridge of Chatou and Pecq when RN 13 and RN 190 inverted their layouts. The RN 186 went then from the Pecq to Versailles by sailing round Paris.
then, the section of Versailles to the Port-Marly of RN 184 was renumbered RN 186. The RN 186 then made the full rotation of the Parisian suburbs except for a few hectometers with the Port-Marly.
then, the section of the Pecq to the bridge of the Island-Saint-Denis was displaced in RD 186 in the Yvelines and in RD 986 in the Hauts-de-Seine. In 2006, the RN 186 thus goes from the bridge of the Island-Saint-Denis to the Port-Marly by circumventing Paris.

The decree of the December 5th 2005 envisages the downgrading of the RN 186 except for the section corresponding to old RN 184 (of Versailles to the Port-Marly).

The description hereafter is made starting from the Trunk road 1 in north and in the direction of the needles of a watch (like the classification of the main roads at the beginning of Paris).

On the level of the plate of Rungis, the RN 186 merges with the highway has 86 which emerges from the tunnels under Thiais and which was established in its place and places. It then loses its preceding communal characteristics by acquiring those of highway and crosses:

On the level of the exchanger with RN 118, the RN 186 merges again with the highway has 86 the time of the plate of Vélizy-Villacoublay.

Shortly after the exit of highway Vélizy - Jouy-in-Josas , the highway A86 becomes RN 286 (renumbered RN 12 in 2006), while waiting for that its prolongation in tunnel towards north is completed (opening envisaged in 2009). The RN 186 is confused during a small kilometer with this RN 286 and separates to cross:
