Route main road 172
The Trunk road 172 ( RN 172 ) was a trunk road French which connected Bayeux to Coutances.
Dans the Years 1970, it was famous D972 in the Manche and D572 in the Calvados.

It also crosses the artisanal village of Noron-the-Pottery but also the Forêt of Cerisy.
In Saint-Lo, D972 circumvents the city by the south, passing by the Delta zone, the hall of the exposures and the boulevard of the commune until theBurning one. From there one can either continue on the by-pass, or to take the peripheral with 2x2 ways to join the road of Coutances with Agneaux.
The setting with 2x2 ways of the portion between Lambs and Coutances is more and more often evoked by the town councilors because Coutançais becomes the only part of the department of the Manche not to be served in the process of highway type.
