Roussillon is a common French, located in the department of the Isere and the area the Rhone-Alps.
Geography
Roussillon is located at équidistance Lyon (69) and of Valence (26) and at a few kilometers of the the Rhone. This commune is also located at équidistance of Vienna (38) and of Annonay (07). To tell the truth, it is often said that there are 5 departments which touch themselves in this area: Isere (38), Ardeche (07), Drome (26), the Rhone (69) and the Loire (42).
It should be known that there are 4 communes which are touched and which function very often together: Saint-Maurice-the Exile, Toll-of-Roussillon, Roussillon and Salaise-sur-Sâne; this unit represents an approximate population of 20.000 inhabitants.

- the Castle of Roussillon (16th century, classified), is equipped with a Architecture of the type Italian rebirth. It was built at the request of the cardinal of Tournon, probably by the architect Jean Vallet on levels given a priori by the Italian architect Sebastiano Serlio. In 1564, Charles IX came to sign there the edict of Roussillon.
