Roussé (oblast)

The oblast of Roussé (in Bulgarian: Русенскаобласт) is one of the 28 oblasti (“province”, “area”, “district”) of Bulgaria. Its Chef-lieu is the town of Roussé.

Located at the north of the country, skirting the Danube, the oblast is connected to Romania by the Pont of the friendship Roussé-Giurgiu which remains, in 2006, the only bridge to cross the Danube from Bulgaria.

Geography

The surface of the oblast is of 2.803 km ².

Demography

At the time of a recent census, the population rose with 278.890 hab., that is to say a Population density of 99,50 hab. /km ².

Administration

The oblast is managed by a “regional governor” (into Bulgarian Областенуправител)   ·whose role is more or less comparable with that of a Préfet of department in France. The current gouverneure is Mariya Trifonova Dimova (in bulgare : МарияТрифоноваДимова).

The oblast gathers 8 Municipalité S (into Bulgarian, oбщина - obchtina - in the singular, Общини - obchtini - in the plural), in which each city and village preserve a clean personality:
