Roure is a common French, located in the department of the the Alpes-Maritimes and the area Provence-Alp-Coast of Azure. Its inhabitants is the Rourois .
It is a medieval village with agro-pastoral architecture.
Geography
The village is located at 1.100 m at the entry of the Vallée of High-Tinée the, in edge of the National park of Mercantour.Access : Since Nice, RN 202 in Worthy direction of , with the bridge of Mescla, to take the RD 2205, then the RD 30 and the RD 130.
History
The first indication of the village goes back to 1067 under the name of “ Rora ”, word derived from Latin “ robur ” which means “ oak ”. The village accommodated and raised herds of cows and goats for the account of owners and those regulated their business under a large oak.Since always, the insulation of the village obliged its inhabitants to live in Autarcie going down from the mountain only to foot or back of Mulet. The road was created only after the Second world war, however in 1927 the inhabitants set up a cable of 1.850 m long carrier of tip trucks out of wooden and actuated by an electrical motor. It functioned until in 1962 making it possible to ensure the descent of the production (milk, cheeses and flour) and to go up the provisions and the mail. In the village even, assembled wheelbarrows with crawler-mounted engine allow the transport of the heavy objects along the inclined lanes and of the staircases.

Places and monuments
- the St. Lawrence Church, of style romano-Gothic, shelters a retable of François Bréa on the topic of the “Assumption of the Virgin” going back to 1560. Its frontage with niches is of Piedmontese traditional style and its bell-tower is of Romance style.
- the Saint-Sebastien vault, built to entreat the danger of the plague of 1510 with naive frescos of Andrea de Cella. Outside a Stoup with carved head.

- the old laundrette with three arches.
- the manor house is old a strong Maison dismantled in 1621.
- the museum of Wood and the Arboretum Marcel Kroenlein on six hectares between 1.280 and 1.600 m of altitude. One finds there collections of Conifère S, of Joubarbe S, maple S, Genévrier S and of Rosier S. Of the sculptures are presented there.
- Plate of Longon, by the GR. 5 and its refuge: Hamlet of Vignols, Mounier mount, mount Gravel pits (2 331 m).
