Round of applause of Bénoïc
The king Ban of Bénoïc is the husband of the Reine Élaine. He reigns with the steps of the Armorican Brittany and the Gaulle. He is in the legend the father of Lancelot of the Lake and Hector of the Ponds, the grandfather of Galaad and the brother of the king Bohort de Gaunes.
Its castle is located in the middle of a marsh considered impregnable, but the close lord, the king Claudas, succeeds in setting fire to it. Round of applause of Bénoïc, overpowered by the disaster, dies of sorrow, leaving his wife and her child Lancelot, at the edge of the lake. Taken pity in front of the mislaying of the éplorée queen, the Fairy Viviane, is seized of the child and plunged in the lake, putting it in safety in its mythical crystal palate.
