Origin

At the time Roman, mâtins, ancestors of our rottweilers of today, keep the cattle intended to nourish the legionaries during the large military campaigns. Morphology/description

The rottweiler is a Chien of the molossoïde type of intermediate size to large. Allowed measurements by the standard of the race go from 61 to 68 cm for the males and from 56 to 63 cm for the females. Its average weight is of 40 kg for the females and 50 kg for the males.

In France, it is classified in the second category of the dangerous dogs since January 1999.
