Rothenbachkopf
The Rothenbachkopf is a top of the Massif of the Vosges located 3 km at the south of the Hohneck. This mountain borders the Route of the Peaks and is at the head characterized by a top horn, rather rare in the Vosges where in fact rather the round forms dominate. The sight is certainly one of most interesting the Vosges in the geological plan. Indeed, the top is exactly at the point where the chain is divided into two.
The hiker can thus contemplate the two watersheds with, in his medium, the deep furrow of the valley of the the Thur. Further, to the east, beyond the Large Ventron, the sight carries on the Lorraine slope , soft inclined.
On the other hand, to the east, the steep slope leads to the valley of Munster.
The summit croup on the course of Ski touring of the crossing of the Vosges. More the greatest caution is recommended because of the cornices of snow and the possible fogs.
Many paths of Randonnée mark out the slopes of the mountain.
