Rotax is a manufacturer of Austrian engine, company creates in 1920 with Dresden, Germany. It is now a subsidiary company of group BPR (Bombardier Produced entertaining)
History
- 1943 the factories are moved with Wels, Austria
- 1947 the factories are moved with Gunskirchen.
- 1959 Rotax amalgamates with the company Lohner-Werke, a manufacturer of car and frame of railway goods wagon based with Vienna.
- 1970 Lohner-Rotax is bought by Bombardier Inc., which makes it possible Rotax to develop its section of engines of motor bike.
- 1982 the company develops its first driving 4-time.
- 1962 a Rotax engine is installed for the first time on a motor bike-snow
- 1989 the engine 912A for plane is certified.
