The Swedish chief ( Swedish Chief) is a character emblematic of the Televised series Muppet Show .

This puppet (Muppet) seems a very awkward jolly fellow and speaks a pseudo Swedish intercalating English words or sounds. Actually, all is nonsense and its favorite expression is “bork, bork, bork”. It is a figure impossible to circumvent of the English culture.

Before becoming this known puppet, the character really existed. Indeed, a Swedish cook, named Lars “Kuprik” Bäckman worked several years with the the United States and made some appearances in a program of American television in 1968. He had the trac so much that he stammered and left the incomprehensible words and the odd sounds. One of its most known gags is that or it tries to prepare of chocolate mousse (even English name: foam ), and or appears a dash (in English moose )

Anecdote

The pseudo-language " bork bork bork" was developed by fans of the series, and with in particular be the object, with other whimsical languages (ex: the Klingon), of a presentation for the interface of Google: Access to the Google interface in " bork bork bork"
