But at the conclusion of the season 1995, the gaining trio of Benetton separates since Schumacher leaves Benetton to join Ferrari, while Byrne decides to take advantage of its rights to the retirement. Brawn does not follow Schumacher at Ferrari and remains one additional season at Benetton, without much success insofar as the pilots Jean Alesi and Gerhard Berger do not gain only one race.
It is finally during winter 1996-1997 that Brawn takes in its turn with the direction of Ferrari, where it replaces John Barnard with the technical direction. He is joined a few months later by Rory Byrne, left his retirement. Thus reconstituted under the direction of Jean Todt, the trio is not long in giving Scuderia Ferrari on the way of success. After a championship of the world of the manufacturers in 1999, Ferrari gains the pilot championships and manufacturers of 2000 to 2004, carrying out one of the strongest dominations of the history of Formula 1. Even if that represents only one small portion of its function of chief technical officer, it is especially made know general public for his presence on the low wall of the stands at the time of the Grand Prix, where it works out strategies of race gaining for his pilots.
At the conclusion of the season 2006, Brawn decided to leave its functions within Scuderia, to take one sabbatical year. Being one of most coveted the personalities medium of Formula 1, the speculations on its future were numerous. In November 2007, it joined the stable Honda F1 within which it will occupy the technical position of director but will be also seen entrusted responsibilities in the sporting direction to the sides for Nick Fry.
