Rospez

Rospez is a common French department of the Coast-with Armor, in the area Brittany, in France. The inhabitants of Rospez are called Rospéziens.

Geography

Located at 7 kilometers in the east of Lannion, this small commune counts today approximately: 1600 inhabitants. Primarily rural, Rospez developed considerably these last years. Today, the borough increases at the expense of agriculture. New centres of populations, like the Being appropriate allotment Nonen, were born still very recently.

History

Rospez (Rosbeith) is formed starting from old Breton the " ros" (hillock or hill), and of a second unknown element. Rospez is a parish since 1437 (Files of Loire-Atlantique, B2982). It is about a dismemberment of the old primitive parish of Louannec. Rospez could be of old foundation. The existence indeed of a locality " Rospez-Meur" (Large Rospez) would tend to indicate a displacement of the primitive center following the disappearance of a monastic establishment. In 1521, the seat of the royal jurisdiction of Lannion, because of the plague, is transferred to the borough from Rospez. The old parish of Rospez depended on évêché on Tréguier, the subdelegation and the spring of Lannion. The cure was usually. The commune of Rospez elects its first municipality in 1790. Rospez increased enclave of Villeblanche (in exchange of Briellec) previously in Trézény on April 16th, 1825 and of part of the territory of Buhulien by ordinance of June 21st, 1826.
