Rosoideae

The subfamily of the Rosoideae includes/understands many shrubs and shrubs and long-lived herbaceous plants, of which some are cultivated for their fruits, like the strawberry plant S and the Framboisier S or for their flowers (Rosier S). One also finds there some species herbaceous annual.

This subfamily is characterized in particular by the fruits in Akène S or drupéoles and by a chromosomal number basic n=7.

The delimitation of the Rosoideae is not yet completely stopped. Recent genetic research (e.g. Eriksson and Al, 2003) involved various change on the level of the kinds and the withdrawal of the Rosoideae of certain kinds (in particular Cercocarpus, Cowania, Dryas, Purshia ) previously arranged in the subfamily. Other research is in hand.
