Beautiful-Basin Rose-Hill is one of largest the Ville S of Maurice, located in the low part of the Plaines Wilhems. She was formed by the fusion of the towns of Beautiful-Basin and Rose-Hill and account 96.000 inhabitants.

Rose-Hill

Rose-Hill constitutes with it only the second more important shopping mall of the country after Port-Louis]. Its important service road by public transport and its central position makes it interesting for cheap shopping. It is located at ten kilometers of the capital.

It belongs to an urban belt of 25 kilometers which extends from Port-Louis in north until Curepipe, more in the south. One the third of the population of the island lies in this vast urban unit.

Beautiful-basin

Beautiful-basin accommodates the John Kennedy College as well as oldest of the Prison S of the island. Built in 1888, it is extremely decayed.
