Rosa sect. Cinnamomeae

Rosa sect. Cinnamomeae (or Cassiorhodon ) is one of the eleven sections of the sub-genus Eurosa .

General characteristics

They are generally shrubby, a height from 1 to 4 meters, with right pivots often per pairs, pink flowers or reds in groups safe at and large fruits which persist after flowering

Origin and distribution

The rose trees Cinnamomeae are originating in all the northern hemisphere, except North Africa:
  • the Rosa rugosa originating in Asia: Rosa rugosa rugosa , alba , rosea , and will rubra and their hybrids “Beautiful poitevine”, “Rosery of Haÿ”, “Agnes” and much of others;
  • Rosa arkansana and Rosa blanda originating in the north of America, pink Rosa pendulina L. or of the Alps ;
  • Rosa oxyodon , originating in Causase, Rosa laxa of Turkestan and about thirty others;
  • pink Rosa majalis or of May , the pink doubles in the past cultivated and Rosa majalis “Flora simplici”, cultivated since 1600.
