Rosa palustris

The rose tree of the marshes ( Rosa palustris ) or is a species of Rosier of the section of the '' Carolinæ '', originating in the east of America de Nord, Canada (Quebec, Ontario) until the south of the the United States (Florida).

Synonymous: Rosa hudsoniana Thory and rosa pensylvania Michx.

Description

It is a shrub nant Drageon, high from 1 to 1,8 meter, with the drawn up port, which pushes in the marshes and at the edge of the lakes. It presents a sharp green foliage to dark green, formed of imparipennées sheets with 5 to 9 leaflets.

The simple flowers, pink dark shining, from 4,5 to 5 cm in diameter, solitary or are grouped in corymbes. Long and late flowering is followed red fruits.

Hybrids

  • spontaneous Rosa X mariæ-græbneræ hybrid of Rosa virginiana and of sharp Rosa palustris with the flowers pink during all of summer which meets close to his/her parents in North America.
