Rosa longicuspis

Rosa longicuspis is a species of climbing Rosier, classified in the section of the '' Synstylae '', originating in China (Guizhou, Sichuan) and in the north of the India.

One meets it in the mountainous regions, between 400 and 2700 meters of altitude.

There are two varieties:

  • Rosa longicuspis VAr. longicuspis ,
  • Rosa longicuspis VAr. sinowilsonii (Hemsley) T.T. Yü & T.C. Ku.

Synonymous:

  • Rosa lucens Rolfe.

Description

Very vigorous (up to 8 meters) with the green stems but with the reddish starts-up, the almost persistent foliage. The sheets are made of 5 to 7 very large pointed leaflets, of a brilliant green.

At the end of June, there is an intense flowering of white flowers grouped in very large corymbes panicled, which give ovoid small fruits orange red.

Use

It is cultivated since 1915, like climbing with the foliage persisting and the very beautiful flowering.
