Rosa dumalis

Rosa dumalis is a species of Rosier, classified in the section of the '' Caninæ '', originating in Europe and the south-west of the Asia. All the authors do not regard this taxon as a distinct species. Flora Europaea treats it like simple a synonymous with Rosa canina .

Description

It is a shrub forming a bush from 1 to 2 meters in height. It has long curved spines.

The sheets comprise 5 to 7 oval leaflets of color bluish green.

It carries clearly Fleur S pink or pink dark in June and July. The fruits are of ovoid form and soft consistency, and the sepals carry the pendeloques ones at the hairy edges.

One can confuse it with Rosa canina , but it is easy to distinguish them at the time of flowering, since it has flowers pink dark with reddish and that Rosa canina has white flowers or of a pink very light.

It has an alternative whose leaflets have a duveteux reverse, Rosa dumalis “complicata”
