Rorschach (comics)

Rorschach is a character of fiction of the series Watchmen. It appears for the first time in Watchmen #1 (1986). It was created by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons.

Biography

Wire nondesired of a prostitute, Walter Joseph Kovacs is a character traumatized by his childhood where he was maltreated. Particularly aggressive and very little loved his mother, Sylvia Kovacs, it is transferred in a special school, the Hearth Lillian Charlton, where he is a model but disturbed pupil. At its exit of the school, learning the murder from his mother, it is satisfied to answer " Bien".

Whereas he works in a factory of seam, Walter recovers a piece of fabric creates by the Dr. Manhattan, whose reasons continuously changing resemble those of a test of Rorschach. He then decides to be made a mask of it to fight against the evil and corruption under the name of the famous test. At the time of investigation into removal of young girl, he discovers that it was killed and given to eat with the dogs of the kidnapper, he rocks in the madness. He massacres the dogs in an atrocious way and make burn living the kidnapper in his house. As from this moment he exerts a justice violent and expeditious, seeing only corruption in the hollows of the city. He does not remove any more his mask, considering that this one is its true face and refuses to stop when a law prohibits the action of the super heroes.

10 years later, with died of Eddie Blake, told to the Actor, after the law intended Keene has to limit the actions of the dispensers of justice, there is always sought by the police force and remains the last active dispenser of justice. Certain that a killer of superman prevails and that it all will eliminate them one by one, it inquires near all his former associates, like his enemies. Having discovered with the assistance of the Owl, the Silky Spectrum and Dr. Manhattan that Adrian Veidt, alias Ozymandias, a former member of Watchmen, were the instigator of this plot (his goal was actually, by releasing a pseudo bomb on New York, to cause a truce to avoid an atomic war which the United States would not survive), it decided to endanger new world peace by revealing the identity of the " Master of the jeu". However, Dr. Manhattan having included/understood the stakes of such a revelation, left the choice to Rorschach: to die, or keep silence and to live. Not being able to be solved with such a possibility, Rorschach let Manhattan kill it. Thus Rorschach, the arbitrary dispenser of justice died, in his search of truth.

Rorschach was inspired by the character of The Question, a character who belonged to Charlton Comics before being sold with cd. Comics.
Its name comes from famous the Test of Rorschach, which Walter in prison makes besides, after its capture.
