Rorgon II of Maine

Rorgon II of Maine , died in 865, was count of Maine of 853 with 865. It was of the family of the Rorgonides, wire of Rorgon I {{er}} of Maine and Bichilde.

He too young person with had died of his father to assume the government of the Comté of Maine which was entrusted to his/her uncle Gauzbert. This last was carried out in 853 and Rorgon succeeded to him.

In 856, Charles the Bald person constituted the duchy of Mans for his/her son Louis and named Rorgon to direct it. The constitution of this duchy lit concerns among the local nobility, carried out by Robert the Fort, going even until the revolt and Charles the Bald person, also noting the incapacity of his son to contain the Breton ones and the Norman ones, revoked the duchy. Louis revolted in his turn in 861, supported by Rorgon. Revolted were overcome, but Charles the Bald person granted his forgiveness to them.

Rorgon was killed some time later by the Normands. Not having children, it was his brother Gauzfrid who succeeded to him.
