is a district of the district of Minato of the town of Tōkyō, with the Japan. He is known by his night life and the presence of foreign tourists and expatriates, although the majority of the visitors are japonais.
He is located in the southern portion of the circle describes by the circular line Yamanote, in the south of Akasaka and the north of Azabu.

History

The name “Roppongi” means “six trees”. A legend says that this name comes owing to the fact that six Daimyo lived in the surroundings during the Period Edo, each one with character Kanji from “tree” or kind of “tree” in their name.

Roppongi was a crossing of two streets until after the era Meiji, when it became a sector of divisions for the imperial Japanese army. After the second world war, the armed with the United States settled there, giving to Roppongi the reputation to be a district from abroad. Several important military installations of the the United States were installed in this sector, most significant being the Hardy Barracks . The sector became populated stores of Western style at once, bars, restaurants, houses of prostitution and bar with hostesses; that is due, mainly, with the military presence of the United States.

Roppongi made party administratively Azabu of 1878 to 1947.
