Root of coral

The coral-red or root of coral ( Corallorhiza trifida ) is a European Orchidée terrestrial.

Description

It is a small rhizomateuse plant forming of the inflorescences deprived of green sheets.

Distribution and ecology

It is a mountain plant with boreal underwoods of spruce, hêtraies-fir plantations of altitude or peat bogs wooded. It develops in neutral or alkaline but very humus-bearing grounds acid. One meets it in North America and Eurasia.
