Salles is a common French, located in the department of the Two-Sevres and the area Poitou-Charentes.

Geography

History

The site of Rooms was occupied very early. Three archeological sites are actuellemnt répetoriés - Barberries - Let us dognons - Chirons. As of the Early middle ages, a family resulting from an abbot of Saint Maixent (Maintrolle) becomes lords of Rooms. Rooms is a parish in 1210 when Pierre Maintrolle built with the monks of Maixent Saint a church dedicated to Saint Martin. The domination of the Maintrolle family lasts until the medium of XVe century. The seigniory is then sold to Philippe Gillier, lord of Villedieu de Comblé (close of Mothe Saint-Héray - 79) The family of Holy Montausier Moor, after the Marriage of François de Sainte of Moor with Louise Gillier, lady of Rooms, is in possession of the baronnie. With died of Charles of Holy Moor, marquis de Salles then duke of Montausier, his daughter marries Emmanuel de Crussol, duke of Uzès, par of France which takes the titles of Montausier. Then Aitz de Mesmy, Green de Saint Marsault finally of Lescours. This last family made contruire a Spinning mill. The count de Lescours was also appointed of Both Sevres.

Charles of Holy Moor (1610-1690), baron de Montausier, Marquis de Salles, Duke of Montausier, Governor of the Large Dolphin, Governor of the Angoumois, Governor of Normandy Married to Julie d' Angennes, girl of Madam de Rambouillet. He attended Julie d' Angennes, during 15 years. He married it in 1645. He had Julie Marie who married Emmanuel de Crussol d' Uzès, duke of Uzès, Pair of France.
